The south is bitterly cold, with states from Florida to Georgia experiencing wind showers in the 1930s.
The wind chill – as it feels – dropped to 24 degrees in Raleigh, 36 in Atlanta, 31 in Charleston and 32 in Montgomery, Alabama on Tuesday morning.
A frost warning was issued as far as Tallahassee, where the wind is 36 degrees cold.
Wind chill dropped to 18 degrees in Boston and 29 degrees in New York City on Tuesday morning.

Mild air will thaw the east coast through Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures are expected to hit the mid to upper 50 degrees in Boston and New York City and near 60 degrees in Philadelphia and Washington, DC
Meanwhile, more heavy rain is expected on the west coast for Washington state and Oregon, where 3 to 6 inches could see in some areas in the next few days.
