Miller, Bruce Barton, – of Ft. Myers, Bruce Barton Miller Sr., 82, of Ft. Myers, Florida, formerly of Millville, died December 9, 2022. Born in Marion, Indiana on June 26, 1940, he attended schools in Mays Landing and Millville, graduating from Millville High School in 1957. Bruce graduated with a Bachelors Degree in English Literature and served in the US Army in the early 1960s. He worked in the automobile industry and in financing, most notably for GMAC, for several decades. He married Janet Conner in 1979, and his work took them and their family to Michigan, Iowa, and Illinois. He loved reading, cooking, and engaging in stimulating conversation. He had a sharp, dry wit. Bruce is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janet; sons Bruce Jr. (Dawn) of Tuckerton and Brent of Arkansas; stepdaughter Nancy Zimmerman of Florida; grandchildren Tim (Kim) Miller and Pilot, Ocean, and Stryder Miller; step-granddaughter Lumin Plaster; Nephew Bruce (Lisa) Dutra of Vineland; Niece Margaret (Ronald Jr.) Durham of Vineland; Nephew Daniel Dutra of Millville; and brother-in-law Robert (Paula) Conner of Vineland. Bruce is predeceased by his parents Rev E Walter and M Emma Miller; his sister and brother-in-law, Florence and D’Lee Dutra; and his stepdaughter Laurie Zimmerman. Services are private. Those wishing to honor Bruce’s memory are asked to donate to a charity of their choice in his name.
