WESH 2 NEW STARTS NOW. SHELDON: RIGHT NOW AT NOON, CHOPPER 2 IS OVER I-4, WHERE TRAFFIC IS FINALLY MOVING AGAIN THIS AFTERNOON. THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE LESS THAN TWO HOURS AGO. THE EASTBOUND LANES WERE CLOSED FOR HOURS AT JOHN YOUNG PARKWAY BECAUSE OF A DEATH INVESTIGATION THAT CAUSED BIG BACKUPS OVERNIGHT INTO THE MORNING RUSH. WESH 2’S BOB HAZEN HAS BEEN COVERING THE INVESTIGATION ALL MORNING LONG. HE JOINS US LIVE. BOB, WHAT’S THE LATEST? BOB: AS YOU SAID, THIS PART OF I-4 NEAR ORANGE BLOSSOM TRAIL WAS SHUT DOWN FOR ABOUT 12 HOURS, AND EVEN NOW IT IS VERY CONFUSING ABOUT WHAT CAUSED ALL OF THIS. I WANT TO SHOW YOU SOME VIDEO FROM EARLY THIS MORNING. THIS IS HOW I-4 LOOKED AS WE DROVE BY 3:00 THIS MORNING. WE CAN SEE EVIDENCE MARKERS ALL OVER THE HIGHWAY CLOSE TO THE EXIT TO OBT. USUALLY THOSE ARE PUT DOWN OVER BULLET SHELLS, BUT THEY CAN BE USED TO MARK OTHER KINDS OF EVIDENCE. A FEW HUNDRED YARDS AWAY, AT THE END OF THE RAMP, A CAR WAS WRECKED. POLICE SPENT HOURS LOOKING OVER THE AUDI SUV AND I-4 ITSELF, WHERE ONE PERSON WAS DEAD ON THE ROAD. EVEN AFTER THIS TIME, OPD HAS NOT WHAT THEY BELIEVE HAPPENED, WHETHER THE PERSON WAS SHOT OR HOW THE PERSON ENDED UP ON THE INTERSTATE. THEY HAVE NOT SAID WITH THE CONNECTION WAS TO THE AUDI THAT WRECKED ON THE END OF THE RAMP. A LENDER PROMISED TO BE PUTTING OUT AN UPDATE VERY SHORTLY. –ORLANDO POLICE COMES TO BE PUTTING OUT AN UPDATE VIRTUALLY. THEY HAVE NOT RELEASED ANY MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE PERSON WHO DIED OR THE VICTIM’S INFORMATION, WHETHER IT IS A MAN, WOMAN, OR HOW OLD THE PERSON IS. At 10:40 am on Friday, a section of Interstate 4’s eastbound lanes in Orange County reopened after being shut down for 12 hours.Orlando police say it was around 11:30 pm on Thursday when officials received multiple calls about vehicles hitting a human body on I-4 eastbound near the Orange Blossom Trail exit. A woman, later identified as 39-year-old Teqilla L. Shepherd, was found on the roadway and an empty, crashed vehicle was located at the off-ramp from I-4 onto OBT Southbound.”At this time, we have more questions than answers. Detectives are working to determine what led to this incident and the death of this individual,” Orlando police wrote in a release.Officials say Shepherd was the registered owner of the crashed vehicle.
